The hardest word to keep..
Consistency. Most definitely the hardest promise to keep to yourself. However it is the only promise that yields your results. Motivation isn’t hard to have. You can feel so motivated yet lack the consistency to continue the efforts that will get you where you want to go. It is most people’s biggest struggle. You don’t lack creative ideas. Or big desires to cultivate your ideal self. Your highest potential. The difficulty one can face with this battle is the energy level fluctuation. You can easily drain yourself during the excitement portion of your new lofty goals then crash and burn and have to reset your routines after a break. You’re most certainly not alone. Please note, breaks are wonderful. Breaks are needed. But not when it becomes detrimental to your progress. The journey now is establishing that balance and dang near impossible ridge line to walk where you must continuously replenish new energy into your cup so that you can continue to pour from it.
Efficiency is the key to that balance. Of course you would end up burning out faster than expected if you are operating in a world of chaos! That is completely valid. You cannot streamline anything where there is no structure. No system. Systems are your biggest lifeline to sanity. In all honesty, most people that out the hard way. Through many trial and error. Through many painful nights of little sleep, mornings late for work and alarm clocks over snoozed. The coming to Jesus moment of “there has to be a better way…”. The good news is, you don’t have to figure all of these out through your own brink of despair experiments. Many others have paved the way through their “I just can’t take it anymore”s and “I have to figure this out or I’m gonna lose it”s. The good news is you can find podcasts, groups, instagram reels, books, Pinterest pins and programs for types of systems to help you structure all facets of your life. Organization for any aspect of your day. You can take the EOS (entrepreneur operating system), tweak it to fit and then apply it to all areas of your life. Your job(s), your parenting, your relationship, your personal goals, your sports. You must have a target to hit. Your must have a direction to head. A margin to land in by the end. So dictate it. Write it out. Then find the best route possible to that ultimate goal, and practice those steps until it becomes natural. Then your efficiency will maximize your energy levels, and your energy levels will steady your motivation which will drive your consistency up exponentially. It is so much more simple to stay consistent when you don’t absolutely dread what it takes to get to your end goal. When you can develop a process that you can find peace and enjoyment in (there is joy in taking responsibility for your reality, but more on this later), you can then find the fulfillment in staying consistent. That consistency over time brings you to your highest potential self.
Solve all of your consistency struggles with efficiency. Streamline life. Learn from others. Learn from your own trial and error. Know that you are not alone. Know that the best version of you is within arms reach.
